What was your motivation for studying for a masters degree?
I wanted to further develop my knowledge in the procurement field and complete a structured scientific enquiry into procurement transformation – this was achievable via a masters degree.  

What attracted you to studying with MDC?
The primary appeal to studying with MDC was the content and flexibility of the course – it allowed me to study whilst working simultaneously. The course also attracts international students, which was also attractive, as it meant that the course covered global aspects of supply chain management and theories. The MDC course also allows a fast-track to achieving the degree, with credits provided for MCIPS.

How did you find your first residential weekend?
I found that the first residential weekend was very intense but well-structured – with a lot of information covered. The lecturers did an excellent job, and kept everyone engaged in the learning process. There were opportunities for the students to ask questions about the second module (Management Theories and Philosophies) and the dissertation. The students were all supportive of one another, and it was a positive environment to be part of. The accommodation was comfortable, and there was also ample food/beverages provided.

What does it mean to you to have graduated with a masters degree?
It has meant a lot to graduate with the MSc. It wasn't easy and required time and dedication, and to graduate with a Merit was a great personal achievement. The knowledge acquired throughout the degree has helped develop my professional skills, through application.
 
What has the reaction (to your graduation and to your achievements) been like from your family, friends and colleagues?
My mum, dad and fiancé were all very proud of me for completing the MSc. When completing the dissertation my family were all very supportive and understanding – the MSc is an achievement that I share with all who helped me along the way.

How has your career developed since graduating? 
I have found that my career is taking a turn for the better since completing the MSc. I am being assigned to very interesting projects, such as the global transformation of procurement systems (which partly aligns with the topic of my dissertation). It's nice to be able to apply the knowledge in real-world examples. I have only recently completed the MSc, so I hope that the positive impacts will keep emerging over time.
